NEWS FEED:

Easily one of my favourite photographers at the moment. Some stunning portraits and an excellent client base.

Mike Bailey Gates

At only 16 Gates has come to be represented by Gaspard Agency and is shown alongside some extremely established work. The strength of his youthful yet hazy and melancholy shots has clearly earnt him this place. Some truely exceptional work and definitely one to keep an eye on.

Anna Aden

Anna is 24 and from North Sweden, something that i feel shows in a number of her photos. There’s a sereneness and warmth to her pictures that’s often hard to find in digital photography. Definatly a lot of potential; be sure to check out both her website and flickr.

Jordi Huisman

Highly adaptable 27 year old photographer Jordi Huisman currently resides in Amsterdam but has travelled a lot recently making for a wide collection of photographs in different scenarios from snowy cabins to portraits of constructions workers to the suburbs of Japan, all of which are outstanding.

Martin Becka

A French photographer using an old English technique, Martin Becka’s Calotypes of Dubai are absolutely stunning. Reminiscent of the Jetsons or a 1950’s sci-fi comic book, these images and the rest of his work are well worth a look.

Sandy Kim

Sandy Kim’s been popping up on blogs all over the place, i admittedly overlooked her work at first but if you spend the times there’s some absolute gems to delve into.

Mike Brodie (a.k.a The Polaroid Kidd)

I was trying to think of what to say about Brodie as i totally adore his photographs; their voyeurism and honesty. Thankfully wikipedia saved me from stumbling over my own words:

“Even if you’re not intrigued by Brodie’s ragtag bohemian cohort—a band of outsiders with an unerring sense of post-punk style—the intimate size and warm, slightly faded color of his prints are seductive. His portraits…..have a tender incisiveness that is rare at any age.” - Vince Aletti

His website’s been down for ages but photos can be found here and here

Franco Monari

Stunning time-stood-still landscapes and architectural photographs from Italian Franco Monari. There isn’t much about him or his work online but definitely one to keep an eye on.

The Impossible Project

To celebrate The Impossible Project’s first anniversary (28th Oct) the team at their factory proudly fired up one of its old machines and began to produce a stream of fresh filmpacks. The news came shortly after the Project announced that it had been commissioned by Polaroid to develop and produce a limited edition, Polaroid branded, set of instant Films for release in 2010 to co-inside with their relaunch of a range of vintage instant cameras. It has also been stated that large-scale, worldwide sales of the Impossible Projects new film will surface at the beginning of 2010 with both black & white and colour films making a reappearance throughout the year. It seems the age old instant film hasn’t quite escaped our grasp just yet and i’m sure we’re all a lot happier for it.
